This month’s book club pick has landed! I’ve reverted back to fiction to bring you the latest release from author Jane Fallon, Tell me a secret. Jane is a fantastic author who has written many novels with one thing in common … revenge and this is no exception. Enjoy lovelies and let me know what you think!
The plot
When single mum Holly gets her dream job, she expects her friend and colleague, Roz, to be over the moon for her and ready to celebrate! But when she realises Roz isn’t as happy for her as she should be, she starts digging into Roz’s life outside of their friendship to work out what’s going on. This is dangerous and as she digs deeper she finds that things don’t quite add up. Who is the woman that is pretending to be her friend?
Perhaps it was mistake to tell Roz all her secrets.
Because it takes two to forge a friendship.
But it only takes one to wage a war . . .
This novel is full of wit and mischief as Holly embarks on a mission with her best friend to uncover the truth about Roz and the secrets she’s been covering up from everyone at the office. Fallon brings to life workplace rivalries where the characters are placed in difficult situations and have to navigate their way out in creative ways whilst subtly hiding what’s really going on from the head of the department. It’s a compelling story that’s unpredictable in many ways and keeps you wanting more.
When reading any Jane Fallon novel I always hope that people wouldn’t actually go to these extremes for revenge but at the same time, it feels real! If you’ve read her novel’s before then you’ll know what I mean. Lots of laugh out loud moments to be had with this one!
Similar titles
As I mentioned previously Jane Fallon has written many books in a similar style so if you find that you can’t get enough like me, then check out some of the other books she’s written including Faking Friends (which was my book club pick in June 2018), My Sweet Revenge, Strictly Between Us and Got You Back.
Enjoy reading and let me know what you think of the story in my comments section!
